Midhem Online Beginner Guide - Nyhem

Nyhem is the main starter hub for new players. Your early goal is to get basic gear, complete the easiest tasks, and reach level 20 so you can unlock stronger progression systems nearby.

First Steps in Nyhem

When you arrive in Nyhem, most of what you need is close to the temple: hunting spots, reward chests, early quests, and your first real upgrades. Focus on easy monsters first, collect some gold, and finish the starter kill tasks before you move into harder areas.

Recommended early focus:

Hunt easy monsters around town and collect gold.
Complete the temple kill tasks.
Upgrade your gear before pushing harder spawns.
Reach level 20 for the arena and mining unlocks.

Temple Reward Chests

Inside the Nyhem Temple you will find several starter reward chests. These are some of the most important early rewards in the game and are worth doing as soon as possible.

Temple task requirements:

Kill 50 Rats
Kill 50 Orcs
Kill 50 Trolls
Kill 50 Skeletons

These reward chests usually give early gear upgrades, consumables like potions or runes, and useful starter items or gold. Completing all four gives you a strong base before level 20.

Good order for beginners:

Start with rats just outside town.
Move into trolls and skeletons once you have a few levels.
Save orcs until you have better gear, more damage, or stronger spells.

Level 20 Arena

Once you are around level 20, head east into the mountains to find the beginner arena. This is one of the best early upgrades you can get, especially because the reward is guaranteed.

Important:

Before entering the arena, visit the nearby bar and have a drink. This is required. If you skip it, you will not be allowed inside.

A reward that works for every vocation

If you are level 20 and still using weak starter gear, do this before you start pushing harder hunts.

Mining Quest

At level 20 or higher, you can begin the mining quest north of Nyhem in the Cyclops Mountains. Go into the underground area to begin.

What to expect:

Crystal Spiders in the area can hit harder than normal starter monsters.
The quest rewards a Mining Pickaxe.
You can also get Amethyst Ore there.

This is a good next step after the arena because it opens another progression system and gives access to useful resources.

Extra Reward Chests

Nyhem also has several hidden or exploration-based reward chests outside the temple. These are easy to miss, so it is worth checking them while you level nearby.

Skeleton Tower: northwest of Nyhem. Climb the tower, then check the underground area west of it.
Southeast Skeleton Spawn: southeast of Nyhem, hidden inside the spawn.
Frost Troll Cave: east of Nyhem.
Orc Tower: south of Nyhem in orc territory.

Helpful Client and Bot Setup

Midhem's client tools can make early gameplay much smoother. Even simple setup changes help a lot for training, looting, and movement.

Useful setup tips:

Enable auto eat food so you keep steady health and mana regeneration.
Use the training dummy with auto attack when you want to train skills efficiently.
Set up automatic gear equip for rings, amulets, and weapons in the tool settings.
Drag each item into the correct tool slot so it re-equips properly.
You can use the Exori loot trick inside mana training or hunts to make looting smoother.

Auto Target Setup

One of the best quality-of-life improvements is binding your movement keys to also attack the nearest monster. This keeps hunts fast and smooth.

Recommended setup:

Open hotkeys with CTRL + K.
Bind movement keys like W, A, S, D or your arrow keys.
Add the action Attack nearest monster to those movement keys.
Example: W = move up + attack nearest, A = move left + attack nearest.

Healing and Survival Tips

Good healing setup matters much more than squeezing out a little extra speed. Stable survival will level you faster than dying and losing time.

Suggested healing layers:

Light heal spell at about 80 to 85% HP.
Strong heal spell at about 60 to 70% HP.
Emergency heal or potion at about 40 to 50% HP.
Mana potion at about 50 to 70% mana.

Avoid in hard hunts:

Auto haste
Utura Gran
Utura Vita

These can drain too much mana and make your healing cycle unstable when a hunt is dangerous.

Extra practical tips:

Keep your hotkeys simple and consistent.
Test new bot or healing settings in easy spawns first.
Upgrade your gear before moving into stronger areas.
You can combine an Ultimate Healing Rune and a potion at the same time for a large emergency heal.
If you die, adjust the setup instead of repeating the same hunt the same way.

Simple Early Progression Path

Complete the Nyhem temple kill tasks.
Level to 20 while collecting reward chests around the area.
Visit the bar and get your arena entry drink.
Clear the beginner arena east of Nyhem and claim your rarity weapon.
Start the mining quest north of Nyhem in the Cyclops Mountains.
Keep farming resources, improving your gear, and preparing for the next hunting zones.
